About

Who are Cornerstone FC?

Cornerstone FC TeamCornerstone FC is a club at the centre of the community in Kingston, made up of local people who enjoy playing football!

We meet to play on The Fairfield Recreation Ground in Kingston upon Thames on Saturday mornings. The Fairfield is also home to our XI a side team, which plays in the SACFL Division 2.

What started out as Fairfield FC, with a few mates having a kickabout in the park (with rucksacks for goalposts!), in 2007, has since grown into an organised club seeking to get to know others in the local community by putting on football sessions.

Who can join?

who_joinAnyone aged 16+ can join, and all abilities are welcome. There are no trials Рjust turn up!

If you’re a local resident in Kingston upon Thames, Surbiton or Chessington, come on down! We have players who are students at Kingston University, some are international visitors and others are professionals working in the local area and in Central London.

What goes on at Cornerstone FC?

who_goesOn Saturday mornings we have an informal ‘training’ session starting at 10am on The Fairfield, where we split into small games of football. We aim for these sessions to have a fun, friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

We also have a programme of 5-a-side and 11-a-side match days and tournaments throughout the year, for those who enjoy more serious competition.

Every now and then we also meet up off the pitch for social events, such as drinks, pub quizzes and barbecues.

What kit do I need to bring?

what_kitWear sports clothes. Football boots are usually necessary, especially just after rain. Shin pads and football socks are not required for training, but are strongly recommended.

How much does it cost?

how_costOur weekly training sessions are free for newcomers trying it out. Once you decide to come regularly or join, it’s ¬£2 a session. That covers the cost of the pitches and contributes to the general upkeep of the equipment (like the goals, nets, footballs, cones etc.).

On matchdays and tournaments, we take subs of a few pounds to cover the cost of booking a pitch and a referee.

We have a donations box on Saturday mornings, as we are completely self-funded. All donations go into the club to pay for equipment and help pay for events.
